That’s why I love teaching the 3 phases of a nervous system wind down — simple steps to shift from survival mode into safety before bed.
✨ Phase 1: Decompression
Shake off the day physically — cat cows, gentle twists, or my favorite, the “Face Wash Stretch.” No equipment needed, just signals to your body that the day is done.
✨ Phase 2: Transition Cues
Set the tone for calm: soften the lights, use gentler voices, maybe diffuse lavender or your favorite essential oil. Your nervous system takes cues from the environment.
✨ Phase 3: Integration (coming next 👀)
This is where you anchor safety into your body so you and your family can truly rest.
