We focus primarily on the special needs adolescent or young adult and his or her family. We understand the circumstances parents face because we have assisted countless families in dealing with crises over the years. For instance, a student may be in trouble with the law, cutting classes or too depressed to go to school. Such situations often cause chaos at home, affecting siblings as well. Trying to find answers on the Internet can be daunting. Even more difficult is determining the best answer. The large number of schools, programs, and requirements is staggering. This is where Bodin consultants excel. We help our clients navigate the complex process of finding the right program for their child. We dig deep below the surface of each program to ensure it addresses a studentÕs specific needs. This approach has resulted in the successful placement of thousands of young people in hundreds of residential programs.

Strict? Maybe. Empowered? Absolutely. In this moment, Krissy Pozatek speaks to a truth many parents wrestle with: yes, boundaries can look strict from the outside—but they’re actually a form of love and long-term empowerment.

Life will hold us accountable. So why wouldn’t we teach our kids how to face that reality with resilience?

This week's guest is someone who's been guiding parents through the messy, meaningful work of growth for nearly two decades: Krissy Pozatek.

Formerly an adolescent therapist, Krissy shifted her focus to coaching parents back in 2006, and she’s been helping families navigate the complexities of mental health ever since. She’s also the author of The Parallel Process, a book that invites parents to grow alongside their kids in treatment.

In this episode, Krissy and Doug talk about what’s changed (and what hasn’t) in the parenting landscape, and what Krissy is seeing now in her work with families.

Ever feel like knowing what to do isn’t the hard part — it’s actually doing it?

In this week’s episode, Trine breaks down the power of mentorship — not as someone to teach you how to do a push up, but someone who shows up, knocks on your door, and says:

"Hey, time to do push-ups."

We’re talking accountability, discomfort, and the small wins that build big habits.
