Meeting for lunch today was a throwback to when we had teacher training meetings at our fave restaurant, on Cal Ave. We even ran into our friend and colleague .hahn !

It's estimated that up to 30% of people experience leg cramps in pregnancy, usually at night. Some studies indicate that an increase of certain minerals in the diet reduces this cramping, and what I have found to be even more effective among my yoga students is simple preventative stretching. There are numerous prenatal yoga practices to stretch the calves.

Learn more about leg cramps and the many ways to address them in one of Lotus Blossom's many teacher training and mentorship options, available to yoga teachers and birth professionals. Scholarships available to those from underserved communities. Link in bio.

ID: A picture of a person from the waist down, side lying with lower leg sticking out of white bed sheets, framed by a light blue pattern of concentric circles. "Relief for common pregnancy discomforts:" is written diagonally across the upper left hand corner, and "Leg cramps" is written in the lower right hand corner in yellow.

Now that the holidays are over, you may be thinking about how you’d like to grow in the New Year. If you’re feeling called to serve families in the childbearing year, consider Lotus Blossom’s annual pre/postnatal yoga teacher training program. More than just a certification program, we provide one-on-one support and mentoring for our trainees to find their own wisdom and voice as they learn to serve a diverse perinatal population. We start in March and offer scholarships for those from marginalized communities. See our link in bio for more info or just send us a message. Personal connection is what we are all about!

They are looking at each other and Jeanna has her hand out, palm facing up with a seed sprout growing into a big pink lotus flower.

So excited for my new teaching tool! This robust model shows the pelvic bones, muscles, organs, and more. Can’t wait to pass it around during teacher training this spring. We discuss the pelvis, not just in the context of pregnancy and birth, but best practices for lifelong pelvic health. All of my students know how passionate I am about this topic! I may be the only person I know who has four pelvises, including the one in my body. 😂

ID: First picture shows a model female pelvis, with bones, muscles, and ligaments on a base. It includes reproductive organs and the left side has veins and arteries. Second picture is this same model, removed from the base, opened vertically from the center of the sacrum. The reproductive organs are set in front, also opened from the center vertically to show the inside of the bladder, uterus, and re**um.

Lotus Blossom’s Pre & Postnatal Teacher Training is back! Dates are now posted for our next mentorship program, which begins in March.

We have two possible plans this year pending covid safety. Plan A combines live-streamed online modules with an in-person weekend. Should covid safety still be an issue, we will go to Plan B and meet completely online. This decision will be made in February, giving trainees enough time to make travel arrangements if necessary.

As always, the training is intimate- limited to just 10 people, with at least two of these spots reserved for scholarships for people from marginalized communities.

For more info, DM us or checkout our website: LotusBlossomPrenatalYoga.com (link in bio).
