western yoga isn’t the best first step for healing your body from chronic stress / trauma 🥹

this 1 super-underrated healing tool helped me reconnect to my power (and its NOT somatic exercises) 👇🏼

if you were ever in a cult or have religious trauma, this post is gonna feel triggering, keep scrolling and don’t read it 🩵

personally, I can’t handle true crime or horror, but for some reason I can handle reading about cults

(I think it’s because growing up in a narcissistic family system felt like a low-grade cult where you’re sort of brainwashed to admire / blindly listen to the narcissist as a child by default)

somehow reading about full-blown cults make me feel soothed- like the narcissism wasn’t that bad (even though it WAS NOT OK)

anyways, I learned 1 healing tool from all of my reading about cults that I tried on myself and it worked REALLY WELL

I (of course) used the tool for GOOD and to create expansiveness in my life, not to hold myself down

I called it “brainwashing myself for good”

and I share this with you because it’s so accessible and easy-to-do.

after a few months of testing, being formally diagnosed has been so relieving and so healing…

the diagnosis doesn’t feel like a life sentence, it’s ultimately setting me free 💖

in the journey I’ve realized how healing is ultimately understanding yourself and what you need

it’s reframing the self-blame and the self-shame into self-compassion

it’s learning how to listen to yourself and coming home to who you’ve always been since you were 4 years old
