Join this upcoming weekend (6/21 & 6/22) for her Yoga Alignment 2nd Module of Yoga Philosophy Foundation 🧘

Since you started taking Iyengar yoga, have you noticed how you’ve been able to diminish, if not eradicate certain areas of pain in your body? Or has a part of your body that you barely knew existed not been awakened? Did you think you could do Salamba Sarvangasana (supported shoulderstand) or Sirsasana (headstand) when you first saw them? And now you are actually doing those poses? Have your physical capacities not expanded since you started Iyengar yoga?
These are examples of how we’re able to broadened our knowledge of our own bodies and then use dharana (concentration) to alter them and then transform our minds as well.

This classical Iyengar yoga way of using the body to train the mind is a springboard to transforming the mind in and of itself. The phrase: “You are what you eat” can be a metaphor to what we’re taught about our yogic states of mind.

Whatever we contemplate or place our attention on, that we become.
- The Shambala Guide to Yoga, Georg Feurstein

Coming to CFY a 5 Day Sama-Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Intensivewith Chuck Miller

Mon, January 20 - Fri, January 24, 2025
8:00am-2:30pm

In this workshop the goal is to help students cultivate a beginner's mind and deepen their understanding of yoga, ultimately leading to constant improvement. Open to all with an open mind, this course will include practice, philosophy, and discussion to help participants challenge themselves in the most appropriate way.

Beginner’s Mind! The evolution of our practice. “Life is too short to change the ending! Change the Beginning!” Esther Perel Make the Beginning more important than the end! “Well begun is half done.” When the preparations are done sufficiently the rest follows with less effort. Those are all very close to the meaning of Vinyasa.

This workshop will focus on the essential core practices within the practice; the aspects of practice that are always present. Breath Roots Core. How present can we be? To recognize Serendipity’s Gift when she presents it, and to accept it! Knowledge and Understanding is our power.

It is not about how fast you go, nor how far; understand what Yoga is, what it wants us to understand and then little by little we move in that direction. It is aspirational. The real yoga is invisible and without an end. Yoga is asking the impossible of us! And she delivers!

This course is open to anyone with an open mind. We will seek to find ways to challenge all in their most appropriate way. The essential core practices apply to any practice, and in fact to life itself.

Each day will include practice, philosophy, and time for questions and dialog.
