Behind the heartfelt stories on Love on the Spectrum is the science of PEERS (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills.) UCLA psychologist Elizabeth A. Laugeson began the development of PEERS over twenty years ago, a time when the project of teaching adults with autism how to date was considered somewhat taboo. Today, PEERS is helping people with autism build new relationships. Learn more:

When U.C.L.A. psychologists first proposed teaching adults with autism how to date, funders wouldn’t go near it. Now we are in a new world.

Honoring the heroes who give life. At the UCLA Blood & Platelet Center’s annual luncheon, top blood donors were recognized for their generosity. Liver transplant recipient Shaylon Brown, who received more than 40 transfusions during a three-month hospital stay, expressed her appreciation. With her care team by her side, she had the rare opportunity to meet several donors who helped save her life.

This year marks a major milestone: 50 years of saving lives. From a single-room operation in 1975 to two full donor centers today, UCLA now collects about 24,000 units annually - supporting patients in need of critical care.

In the aftermath of the January fires that swept through parts of L.A., Palisades Charter High School was left without a campus—displacing hundreds of students and staff.

Now settling into a temporary campus at a former Sears store in Santa Monica, the "Pali South" community is reconnecting. UCLA Health is proud to stand with Pali High, providing every student with a custom Pali Strong shirt as they rebuild. 💙💛

In one such model, drugs are available at wholesale cost plus a 15% mark-up, and a nominal pharmacy and shipping fee.
