Severe arthritis and large osteophyte formations pictured in this patient’s low back. Needle placement was challenging, but now the patient is experiencing great relief from low back pain. Challenging cases and happy patients keep me 😁

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), aka LIQUID GOLD 🥇, uses the patient’s own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints.  
 
Platelet-rich plasma has been found to significantly enhance the healing process, and using a PRP injection for shoulder pain caused by rotator cuff tears, for Achilles tendon ruptures and for other soft-tissue injuries is becoming more common. 
 
PRP has also been demonstrated to improve function and reduce pain in people who have tendonitis or chronic tendinosis conditions such as tennis elbow or golfer's elbow.

Back pain is a common issue I deal with in my practice. Most patients aren’t aware of the different treatment options for pain that don’t involve taking medications. It’s an exciting time to be an Interventional Pain Physician because this field of medicine is constantly growing and evolving 👏🏼
