Becky Patel, teaching since 2013, has traveled to Pune, India twice to study with the Iyengar family and continues to study āsana and philosophy with Iyengar teachers. She assisted in the the Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics classes at IYILA for three years and enjoys sharing the therapeutic benefits of Iyengar Yoga with her students. The LA Institute is delighted that she has now assists in the new Specific Needs (Therapeutics) classes. As a designer and small business owner, Becky spends much of her day in front of a computer when she is not teaching. Yoga has given her the tools to relieve physical and mental stress and fatigue, which she uses to inform her teaching. She has a relaxed, approachable teaching style and strives to challenge students while creating a safe and welcoming environment for learning.

Our Sunday Community Classes are open to all. Class recordings are available for 48 hours.

The standing poses I don’t necessarily get as much out of. But a lot of the stretching poses are great. Our Sunday donation class is hybrid and for everyone!

Meet Jenn Triggs:

Immersed in the joy and deeper dimensions of bodily movement her whole life, as an athlete, student and teacher, Jen has served to instruct others in most every trending fitness discipline for more than thirty years. As a collegiate cross-country athlete, she found yoga as physical and spiritual medicine for the years of competitive stress and injury. And, she discovered yoga’s essence utterly profound – its compassionate invitation to pay attention. In addition to being a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, she holds a Masters in Exercise Physiology. You will find her teaching style energetic, fun, and welcoming.

International Women’s Day

Today we celebrate the women who have shaped, guided and sustained the living tradition of Iyengar Yoga.

We remember with deep gratitude Geeta Iyengar, whose dedication and profound understanding of the practice transformed the way yoga is taught and experienced around the world. Her work continues to inspire generations of teachers and students.

We also honour Abhijata Iyengar, who carries the teachings forward with insight, strength and compassion, sharing the depth of the method with students across the global Iyengar Yoga community.

On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, intelligence and resilience of women in yoga. Teachers, students, organisers and practitioners who nurture and sustain our community every day.
