Yoga with Jessica

Yoga with Jessica Welcome to my page where you can find details for upcoming yoga classes and workshops! Yoga has been part of my life since I was seven years old.

My journey began first with seated meditation and slowly evolved into a physical, moving meditation practice. In 2014, I completed a 500 hour teacher training certificate in Vinyasa Yoga focused in Ashtanga Yoga from Rishikesh, India. After eight years of regular practice, I received authorization to teach the traditional method of Ashtanga Yoga by my Guru, Sri R Sharath Jois from Mysore, Karnataka (India). As a lifelong student of this path, it is my passion to share what I have learned over the years. I hope you will join me in this never ending journey of self-exploration. I love and miss you dearly and hope you recover soon ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

Sharing some pictures over the years of my beautiful home state. It’s hard to believe some of these places are wiped away just like that. I admire those on the ground helping others to safety. If you can, pls donate to help get these communities back on their feet.

Happy today and everyday!

Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about my ā€˜sankalpa’ and its evolution so I wanted to share its basic concept for your own contemplation…

In the context of yoga, meditation, and spiritual practices, sankalpa holds significant importance. In Sanskrit, ā€œsanā€ translates to ā€œconnection with the highest truthā€ and ā€œkalpaā€ to ā€œresolveā€. Sankalpa can be understood as a solemn vow made with a deep sense of purpose and connection to one’s ultimate truth. The practice of sankalpa can help clarify intentions with one’s deeper values and aspirations, harness willpower towards achieving the intended goal, and align an individuals actions with a higher purpose or spiritual path.

It is believed that the power of sankalpa lies in its ability to manifest reality ✨. By repeatedly affirming and nurturing the intention with sincerity, clarity, and positive emotions, practitioners cultivate an environment conducive to realizing their sankalpa.

In essence, it is more than just setting a goal; it is a profound commitment to self-transformation and aligning with one’s true purpose, using the power of focused intention and will to manifest positive changes in life. So I ask you, what’s your sankalpa? Feel free to share in comments or keep it in your ā™„ļø
