RSVP LINK IN COMMENTS: Join Mell in Miami on 1/24 @ Lambda Miami-Dade for a Chemsex Recovery Workshop!

Chemsex recovery is a deeply personal and relational process centered on rebuilding a sober, values-aligned sexual identity. In this workshop, participants will explore what desire and intimacy can look like without the use of substances, while learning how to reconnect with embodied awareness, pleasure, and authentic connection.

The workshop emphasizes rebuilding trust with oneself and with others, developing healthy communication and consent practices, and creating intimacy that is sustainable, intentional, and rooted in personal values. Participants will examine arousal patterns shaped by chemsex and gain tools to move from compulsion or escape toward choice and agency.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a clearer understanding of chemsex, insight into their relational and arousal dynamics, and practical guidance for developing a personalized sexual recovery plan.

The No Matter What Recovery Annual Holiday Tree Decorating Contest was a hit! Each sober living residence is given a design budget and they come up with a clever theme to sleigh the competition. This year, we had a tie between a “Stranger Things” design from our South House, and a concept from the North House that celebrated our dear Gannon who is our Sober Living Regional Manager. The winners will enjoy a pizza and ice cream party, and of course, bragging rights. A very special thanks to our detox Operations Manager Gabby Estrada who helped decide the winners as Santa’s elf. Merry Christmas to all!

Exciting news over at our inpatient program No Matter What Recovery Detox: Rob Young joins the team as their new Clinical Director!

“Returning to a detox and residential clinical setting feels like a homecoming for me, especially since I will be once again focusing my care on clients struggling with the oftentimes disastrous intersection of crystal m**h misuse and sex,” said Rob. “I’m excited for this next chapter in my professional journey, and, most importantly, for the critical work to help individuals in the LGBTQ+ community recover their lives.”

No Matter What Recovery Executive Director Mell McCracken joins the growing chorus of healthcare practitioners sounding the alarm about Nitazines. The synthetic op**te is highly potent — 20 times stronger than fentanyl — and carries a much higher risk of overdose. Thank you for inviting us to share this important message.
