Register TODAY for Caregiver Conference - South Bay! Keiro’s second Caregiver Conference in 2025 will be on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute. This event will be centered on Building a Strong Care Foundation through advance care planning. On August 13, Gene Kanamori, Keiro's former President & CEO and long-time community member, was honored with the Pioneer Spirit Award from the Nisei Week Committee. Recipients are dedicated, long-standing community volunteers and leaders of the Japanese and Japanese American Community. Congratulations to Gene and the other recipients for receiving this prestigious award!

One of the many milestones towards the development of Keiro’s board and care home is to establish strong leadership to help navigate the complexities of regulatory requirements, project management, and building a successful business plan. As Keiro continues to make steady progress on renovations and licensing, we are pleased to announce that Desiree Kitagawa has joined the team as the Executive Director of the board and care, which has been named Keiro Kikyo Home.

TODAY is the last day to apply for Keiro's Grants Program. This year’s Grants Program cycle will once again focus on supporting programs and projects that enhance the quality of life for older adults and caregivers in the Japanese American and Japanese-speaking communities of Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties.

On July 25, we hosted a session for this year's Nikkei Community Internship cohort on what it means to be a , during which we facilitated self-reflection conversations on the topic.
