I’m grateful to be part of this amazing team!

We’re excited to announce our newest research publication in the Journal of Family Medicine and Disease Prevention! We collaborate with community partners around the world and use the scientific method to collect data, monitor programs, and evaluate the impact. This study was a collaboration between Meeting TENTS, Biola University, FCCDI, the Philippines Department of Health, and many more. Community health solutions come from unity and collaboration!

PH students, you always see me and other faculty in videos, but you don’t get to see behind the scenes. There are so many amazing people behind the cameras and on the video production team. This is Connally, and she was a huge support as I wrapped up filming another course today. Thank your video and tech people when you see them around campus!

It’s crazy to see memories like this pop up on my phone. Four years ago today, during the height of the pandemic, we were in Uganda. Meeting TENTS was given special permission to enter the country for 72 hours, bring medical supplies, and work with the Ministry of Health to train rural community leaders. We entrusted our boys to some friends, packed supply crates, and went on an adventure. It was amazing to see the unity between community leaders, government officials, and pastors. We made some forever friends on that trip and still work together today on other health global health issues.

I try, but I’m not always the greatest at remembering to capture moments, especially in professional settings. This is the second year in a row that I forgot to take a pic from training the Whittier College Health Education team! I did capture this moment walking on a trail shortly after, reflecting on gratitude in this season.

Whittier College PHE team, you all are amazing and inspiring! Thank you for your kindness and pursuit of helping others. I have no doubt that you’re all going to do incredible things on your campus and in the community.

The Ebola outbreak in Uganda has officially been declared over, but there are many aspects of unknowns with this outbreak to consider. Check out my latest blog that has an epi map, case reports, and questions.

Public health students, we’re going to analyze this outbreak together and learn from it!

The Ebola (Sudan virus) outbreak that started in Uganda on January 30, 2025 has been declared over as of April 26, 2025. The country announced a 210-day period of caution. Public health students, below is an epi map and what was known (and not known) about cases and contacts. We will analyze this o
