An article about myself and my path leading up to present was published by Weekly Lalala, a LA originated magazine for Japanese people. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on my earlier days in the US and also to truly appreciate everyone who has been there for me throughout the years.

It was an honor to be invited as a lecturer in the Youth Leader Institute conference hosted by Asians and Pacific Islanders with Disabilities of California (APIDC). A group of young leaders with a wide range of disabilities participated as fellows in this conference.

I presented on the topic of self-care, how to maintain your balance and well-being despite the ongoing challenges that may be unique to their disability.

Covid-19 vaccination for kids ages 5-11 may become available soon, but taking your child for a vaccination appointment may give rise to a wave of anxiety for many parents.

Many of us fear needles, and for children, their attempt to escape getting a shot often results in a series of challenging behaviors including tantrum, screaming, aggression, and elopement.

The good news is, you CAN help your child overcome the fear or alleviate their stress.

This blog post introduces some strategies you can use to make the vaccination experience less traumatic and much more manageable.
