Hey everyone! Today marks one year since Cammie's lung transplant 🫁. It honestly feels like it was just yesterday, but we're grateful that the toughest moments are behind us.

In the past 5-6 months, she’s made incredible progress, and we’re so thankful for everyone who's been part of this journey with us πŸ™β€οΈ

Hi all, just wanted to update on Cammie's progress after 6 months.

After enduring a tough initial period with multiple emergency room visits, medical procedures, and hospital stays, she remains resilient and is doing her work to recover. She's still in a critical phase of her recovery, but the doctors have provided us with encouraging news about her prognosis. We are grateful for the outstanding care from her doctors and medical team πŸ™.

I'm obviously not good at posting updates but thank you for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers, it's been a blessing to have so much love and support πŸ™β€οΈ

Hey everyone, Steve here with an update. Yesterday we received a call from the transplant team about a possible donor organ. This time was very different from February as we were more informed, took our time getting to hospital and spoke with many hospital staff throughout the wait.

Cammie was wheeled into pre-surgery around 5:00am this morning and the organ looked good so as of right now she is in surgery. I will update as soon as I can πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Update: Just got a call from transplant team and unfortunately it's a no-go for today. Cammie is doing fine so we'll gather ourselves for the next round πŸ‘

Hi all! This is Steve with an update. After a lot of hard work, Cammie was officially listed last Friday. We spent the past week getting our home ready when about 3 hours ago suddenly her phone rang. It was "the call" we were waiting saying that there was a organ available. It was pouring rain outside but I made it safely to the hospital and she is waiting. Please keep Cammie in your thoughts and prayers πŸ™

Hello, everyone! Steve checking in. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm providing a long-overdue update on the page since it's been a few months. Unfortunately, Cammie is not yet listed for transplant, as we are working hard towards achieving the final milestone required before she can be officially listed. This milestone, though it may seem straightforward on paper, has its own set of challenges. Cammie is giving her best effort given her current condition. Once she reaches her goal, we'll be sure to provide more updates. Stay tuned!

On a different note, today, November 11, is a significant day for us. It marks both the 20th anniversary of my liver transplant and our 12th year of marriage. Reflecting on the past two decades, the journey has been a mix of challenges and moments of happiness. I've made numerous mistakes in choosing a non-traditional path instead of pursuing a job and family has cost a fortune in time, but I still hold onto the belief that the future holds more promise than where we are today. The specifics of what lies ahead remain uncertain to me as God only knows. The most I can do is follow His path and be a better person from it and know that I am here for a reason...

Thanks to our family and friends for all the love and support throughout the years πŸ™β€οΈ We love you all!

[From the May 31, 2023 archive]

After an "adventure" trying to find the building and office, we had a brief meeting with Cammie's transplant surgeon. He reiterated the steps that Cammie needs to take to be accepted into the program. Not much left to do but to wait for now.

He reminded me of one of my transplant surgeons from 2003 - a no nonsense, straight to the point kind of person. I guess that's a good sign! 😊
