Every April, communities across the United States come together to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month — a time to raise awareness, strengthen families, and commit to the safety and well-being of every child.
❇️ How you can make a difference:
🔆 Learn the signs. Recognizing the warning signs of abuse or neglect — such as sudden behavioral changes, unexplained injuries, or withdrawal — is the first step to getting a child help.
🔆 Support families under stress. Many risk factors for abuse are rooted in caregiver stress, isolation, and lack of resources. Connecting families to support services makes a real difference.
🔆 Talk openly with children. Age-appropriate conversations about body safety, trusted adults, and healthy boundaries help empower children to speak up.
🔆 Advocate in your community. Support local organizations, programs, and policies that invest in family well-being and child protection.
