🌎 Align Community, you deserve relationships that meet your needs.

🫶 In your 20s and 30s, your relationships with your partner, family and friends affect how you feel more than anything else.

😥 When you max yourself out by pleasing others, you’re trying to take care of everyone else first so hopefully they take care of you too. But that doesn’t always happen and you might feel like it’s too late to change the pattern.

We want to help you:
❌ Do less people pleasing
💪🏽 Build your confidence
🗣️ Be more assertive
❤️‍🩹 Cope with the anxiety that comes with relationships

🌎 Align community, this is one for the scrapbooks: re-engaging with your partner after you’ve been disengaged for a while is hard but the key is to start taking steps.

❓So how do you re-engage your partner if you feel stuck in your relationship?
⏱️ Molly: start small and have an uninterrupted conversation on the couch before you schedule that 3-hour dinner at a restaurant
📝 Judy: do something you both enjoy before you make plans to do something on your own this weekend
🧘‍♀️ Fidel: start by talking about how you feel before you ask them how they feel about you as a couple
🎨 Nazzi: it’s normal to disengage after big life changes but re-engage by looking back or forward before you settle into disengagement
💭 Jasmeet: it’s all about the patterns, learn the patterns and then intentionally change them to something that works
💯 Any one of the recommendations are great but doing all of these can help you feel more connected with your partner even when you are not feeling as engaged

🙈 Are you in a relationship but feeling like you’ve grown apart? It happens when we want to protect ourselves but is this a long-term solution?

🌎 Align community, you deserve a relationship where you can lean in instead leaning out when you are feeling burnt out
📋 You might be:
🪫 Feeling emotionally drained during each conflict or argument because the last issue was never really resolved
🤚 Disengaging and pulling back to prevent further problems but then feel like you aren’t close anymore
😕 Struggling to feel truly happy in the positive moments because you don’t trust the positives anymore
✏️ How do you fix it?
🧐 First, tell them how you feel and see how they respond
❎ If it doesn’t go well, both of you may need help figuring out why your communication is off
✅ If it goes great, you’re on the right track but you’ll need to agree on the problems and solutions
🛋️ If you agree on the problems but not the solutions, a therapist can help you discover and practice skills to see what works

🌎 Align community, this is one for the scrapbooks: being vulnerable with your partner is easier said than done especially when you feel triggered.

❓So how do you express vulnerability when you feel stuck or triggered?
⏱️ Be honest about your feeling and take a break
📝 Take a moment and write it down
🧘‍♀️ Be mindful and listen to your body
🎨 Express yourself creatively or artistically
💭 Let the thoughts flow and resist the urge to suppress them
💯 Any one of the recommendations are great but doing all of these can help you feel even more regulated when it’s time to have that tough conversation

🙈 Ever knew a conversation with your partner was going to be a fight before it even starts?

🌎 Align community, you deserve a relationship where you can share your true emotions, not just the ones protect you from rebuttals
🔇 It’s truly difficult but necessary to be authentic with your partner because spaces for this are running out
🪞So many of your friendships, work relationships and social media require you to show up with your best self
💝 Your partner deserves your best self too but also the real you even (read: especially) when it’s difficult
🌳 Take our advice on this: if your feelings are the tree, dig up the roots and speak on those
💻 Individual and couples therapy helps you start the conversation off right so the fight can be avoided and you can stay focused on solutions

🙈 Have you ever worked with a therapist who couldn’t understand how certain things are normal or not normal in your family no matter how much you explained?

🌎 Align community, you deserve a therapist like Judy who understands diversity on so many levels including when it comes to growing up Asian
💼 She has worked with clients of different ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation for 2+ years in multiple settings
🌏 There are so many nuances to being “Asian” because that’s an intersection of so many different ethnicities that are all truly different
🧩 There are some commonalities that bring everyone together like:
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The collective pressure to conform to family expectations
👥 The guilt or shame that can come from being too in touch with your family’s culture or being “too American”
🫠 Being first-generation also can feel like such a disconnect because you’re trying to be happy and make others happy which doesn’t always have the most overlap
💯 Align has always been intentional about building a team of diverse therapists so you can feel confident that you’re working with a therapist who understands you

🌎 Align community, this is one for the scrapbooks: we all feel anxious about public speaking, meeting strangers or interviews but having a gameplan for dealing with these situations is key. P.S. how many therapists does it take to solve such a complex problem? We used six.

❓ First, like Julia mentioned, ask yourself: Why does your body feel this way? What are you afraid will happen?
🤕 Your mind is just trying to project you based on experiences from the past
😬 Then, like Fidel mentioned, ask yourself: Have my worst fears or anxious thoughts actually come true in the past? If they have, how often? Probably less often than we think
🛟 Then, like Jasmeet, Stephanie and Judy mentioned, prepare for the situation and go into it with options that help you feel safe
📝 Lastly, like Nazzi mentioned, come back and reflect on whether it was actually as bad as you thought it would be and note it down for next time
💯 Any one of the recommendations are great but doing all of these can help you feel even more prepared and confident than you expected

🙈 Ever been getting ready for a social gathering or a big presentation and find yourself feeling anxious or imposter syndrome?

🌎 Align community, you deserve to walk into these situations with confidence so you can show your true abilities
📊 The first step is to normalize your feelings and thoughts because this happens to everyone, people just don’t say this part out loud
🧘‍♀️ Then, we help you learn how you can manage these thoughts by practicing coping skills that help you calm down and embrace what you can control
🤫 Last, we help you bring your vulnerable thoughts out with only people that you trust because not everyone deserves the power you give them to control your thoughts
❤️‍🩹 It definitely sounds easier than it is but that’s because you are probably going to feel triggered along the way which is why we go at your pace
🫵 When you talk to friends or family about it, they may tell you what works for them but therapists let this be all about you every time

🙈 Have you ever worked with a therapist who spends most of your time just listening? For some of you that’s enough. But in our experience, most people want a therapist who offers you solutions

🌎 Align community, you deserve a therapist like Fidel who gives you an evidence-based, structured approach
💼 He has been a Program Director at a top treatment center in Southern California for 6+ years
💸 Fidel provides the same quality of therapy at this center as he does at Align but for a much lower cost
📚 He has also been a professor at Pepperdine University
🎓 He teaches Master’s level students who are training to become therapists themselves
✏️ He has also received weekly training in CBT and ACT
🧠 CBT and ACT are among the leading treatments for anxiety, depression and OCD
💯 Align has always been intentional about building a team of highly trained and experienced therapists so you can feel confident that you’re in capable hands

🌎 Align community, this is one for the scrapbooks: being a people pleaser isn’t usually something you choose at first. While it helps you in the moment, pleasing others can leave you feeling pretty drained.

🧀 Fidel: being a people pleaser is like having a string cheese, you are good at giving everyone a piece of you and by the time you run out of pieces…you realize you never ate any of it
😬 Julia: the drive to please others can come from a fear of abandonment, believing you’re unlovable or just not enough
🤨 Stephanie: people pleasing can also get frustrating for others around you because they’re always under pressure to make decisions for you or guessing what you really want
🤕 Judy: you might not even be aware of the pain you’re causing yourself until the consequences set in

🙈 When you’re a people pleaser, you’re taking care of everyone else. But who’s making sure they appreciate everything you do and go easy on you the one time you don’t meet their expectations?

🌎 Align community, you probably deserve more than you’re willing to accept if you’ve been conditioned to please others
☝🏽 People pleasing works pretty well when you only have to please one person or just your parents
👥 But most of us have work, a partner, family, friends and other relationships we have to manage
😩 This is usually when people pleasing eventually becomes exhausting and leads to frustration
😡 The dirty little secret is that the people you’re working so hard to please aren’t even 100% happy
💯 Learning how to assert your values and worth is essential to avoid the problems that come up when people pleasing falls apart
❤️‍🩹 And that’s where a therapist comes in to give you one hour per week of practice putting yourself above everyone else like you actually deserve

🙈 Have you ever found yourself approaching a potential therapist about working together and stumbled when telling them you need a lower fee? What about asking for a lower fee after you’ve already started therapy with them?

🌎 Align community, you deserve a therapist like Jasmeet who makes this conversation easy and works with you so you can get the care you need at a fee you can afford
💵 The truth that most therapists don’t talk about is that negotiating fees is actually one of the least fun parts of our job too so we want to make this process easy for you (and us)
💸 At Align, we don’t hide the fact that our fee is $200/hr but all of our therapists see you for much less than that when you need it
💻 Here’s how it works: you schedule a consultation with your preferred therapist to determine if they’re a good fit for you and can help you with your problem
🪙 If you want a flexible fee slot, we let you know which slots that therapist has available: $100, $125, $150, $175, etc
♾️ Forever fees: negotiating with us after we have built a relationship is always awkward so our policy is to never raise your fee (even if your fee is $100 and you win the lottery)
⚖️ This forever fee (at a cost you can afford) is one more way we give you stability and consistency at a time you probably need it most

🛋️ We are now accepting new clients in their 20s & 30s for online therapy in California
📱 Check out our therapists & remember to share with someone in need

🌎 Align community, this is one for the scrapbooks:when you’re questioning yourself the most, a therapist can help you find the answers that work for you and hopefully them too
❤️‍🩹 your family may not always understand you but working with a therapist can heal those relational wounds

🖲️ everyone in their 20s and 30s wants to be able to make their own decisions
🫣 but that usually involves showing your family how different you are than them
🆗 some families are okay with that but many are not
😳 all families show it in different ways: arguments, avoidance, passive aggressive comments, judgment, guilt, shame
🎙️ this is why we consider it our responsibility as therapists to help you practice the best ways to communicate your truth

🛋️ we are now accepting new clients in their 20s & 30s for online therapy in California
