Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are in charge of making sure that Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other ABA professionals do a good job. Here are some good things that BCBA supervisors should do:
🌸Set clear goals and expectations. For each supervisee, write down clear goals and expectations, as well as specific goals for each supervision session.
🌸Encourage professional growth: Tell the people you supervise to keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date by doing things like going to conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reading relevant research and literature.
🌸Use a variety of ways to supervise. Use a variety of ways to supervise, like direct observation, case review, and feedback sessions, to make sure that supervisees get a complete approach to supervision.
🌸Ensure ethical and legal compliance: Make sure the people you're supervising are following ethical and legal rules in their work, such as keeping client information private, keeping proper records, and following the ethical standards set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
🌸Maintain a good working relationship: Set up and keep up a good working relationship with the people you are in charge of. This can help build trust and create a good, supportive work environment.
By making sure their supervisees follow these best practices, BCBA supervisors can make sure that their supervisees give the best care possible to their clients, keep improving their skills and knowledge, and follow ethical and legal rules in their work. This, in turn, will help clients who are getting ABA therapy do better.
