Hello, my name is Neel Raval. I am a board-certified Sports Medicine physician.
I started this page to help communicate information in an easy-to-read, concise, and readily available format. I have always felt that knowledge is power, and the more information you have on your injury or condition, the better able you are to get heal. No one knows your body better than you, and if you have all the information about what is going on, you can help develop the best approach to getting better.
Having grown up playing competitive basketball and soccer, I have always had a passion for all things sports. I carried that interest with me throughout my medical training, and now care for athletes of all ages. My expertise lies in the conservative, non-surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions, including those that are acute, chronic, or a result of overuse.
During my time as a sports medicine doctor, I have had the opportunity to serve as the team physician for several high-level sports teams including those at the collegiate and professional levels.
While I have an appreciation for the demands of higher level athletics, in my practice, I care for all athletes of any skill level. Whether you’re a weekend warrior, a person engaging in exercise for their health, or someone who is battling arthritis affecting their daily life, I hope this page is able to provide some useful information on common (and sometimes uncommon) medical conditions.
I hope this page inspires you to get out there and exercise safely, while also providing you with information that might not always be easy to come by. As a sports doctor, my goal is always to get my patients back to the activities they want to perform.
I welcome comments or requests for posts on specific topics related to sports, muscles, injuries, or anything in between!
