On Thursday, July 18th between 0900-1400 Hours in Battalion 18, the Los Angeles Emergency Management Department will be hosting a disaster exercise. This exercise is a bit different than what we are used to. This exercise is designed to give the EMD an idea of HOW A HOUSE OF WORSHIP WILL RESPOND IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION such as earthquakes, fires, or power outages. Yours Truly has worked on the design of this exercise and I can tell you it's going to be quite interesting. We have been working on this project for quite some time. The host church is Trinity Baptist Church In Jefferson Park
I am soliciting, from you folks, your participation. If you are available on this day (again, I know it's a weekday), we'd love to have you come in as a participant meaning that you'd be NON-CERT on this day UNLESS DESIGNATED BY ME ON SITE. As I always say, opportunities like these are great because it is good to see what happens "from the other side." In this exercise, you will see, from the other side, the process of crowd management, dealing with people who have medical conditions/mental issues, young people, the older, and so on. Your role in this is to BE THE FOLKS THIS CHURCH HAS TO DEAL WITH after that disaster. EVERYONE IS WELCOME to be a part of this and is encouraged. More details to come.
The truth is WE NEED YOUR ENGAGEMENT TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN, SO I NEED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU WHO CAN MAKE IT.
The LA EMD, LAFD CERT, LAFD South Bureau, LAPD, and some other agencies will be on hand for this exercise. The LAPD, LAFD, LAFD CERT, and other agencies WILL be in attendance on this day. LUNCH, AS WELL, WILL BE SERVED.
