Worried about your vision with diabetes? 🧐 You're not alone! Over 37 million people in the U.S. have diabetes, and 1 in 3 may develop diabetic retinopathy. 👁️‍🗨️

This condition, caused by changes in the blood vessels of your retina, can lead to vision loss and even blindness if left untreated. But there's good news: you can prevent it! 🛡️

Here are three simple steps to protect your sight:

Manage your blood sugar. 🩸 Check it daily to monitor and manage your diabetes effectively.

Control your blood pressure. ❤️ Aim for a target set by your doctor, usually below 140/90 mmHg.

Get an annual retinal exam. 🩺 Regular eye exams can detect diabetic retinopathy early when it's most treatable.

Don't wait until it's too late! Prioritizing your eye health means you can keep doing the things that matter most to you. 🏃‍♀️🎨🎣

Contact Universal Community Health Center to schedule your retinal eye screening today! Call us at (323) 233-3100. 📞
