The group is facilitated by Adoptions/Foster Care Coach and Adult Adoptee Lauri Greenberg.

Lauri Greenberg: My journey to becoming a therapist is shaped by a wealth of lived experience. As an adoptee raised in a family where I didn’t always see myself reflected, I developed a unique ability to observe, understand, and connect with others. This experience of navigating identity and belonging has given me deep empathy, and I bring that perspective into my work with clients.

💛 Thank You & Happy New Year, Celia Center Community 💛

As we step into this new year, we want to pause and say thank you to every adoptee, foster youth, family of origin, caregiver, clinician, artist, volunteer, and supporter who makes the Celia Center what it is.

You show up with courage.

You show up with hearts open to healing, connection, and growth.

Because of you, Celia Center remains a place where stories are honored, feelings are welcomed, and no one has to heal alone. Your presence, generosity, and belief in community-centered healing continue to light the way forward.

✨ Happy New Year ✨
May this year bring moments of peace, meaningful connection, laughter, restoration, and hope. We are so grateful to walk alongside you in the year ahead.

With deep appreciation and love,

Our mentoring event this past Saturday was a beautiful success!
🎉 Foster and adopted youth and adults came together in a safe, encouraging space to share stories, ask hard questions, and feel truly seen and supported.

One of the highlights of the day was creating puzzle-piece identity art a hands-on activity that helped us explore who we are while experiencing a much-needed dose of genetic mirroring. Seeing our pieces come together reminded everyone that identity is shaped not only by where we come from, but also by the community that surrounds us.

The room was filled with connection, laughter, and powerful conversations about foster care, adoption, belonging, and healing. Many participants shared that they left feeling more hopeful, grounded, and less alone.

Thank you to our incredible mentors, volunteers, and community for showing up with such open hearts we’re already looking forward to the next one called Mentor-ooney. :0))))) 💛

🎬✨ Exciting News! ✨🎬
We are thrilled to share that the upcoming Adoptee Film Fest (AFF) is open for ticket reservations and it’s a must-attend event for anyone connected to adoption, kinship care, and the adoptee voice.

📅 Why You Should Go
The festival proudly champions adoptee filmmakers whose stories center on the unique journeys of identity, belonging, longing, separation, and reconnection.

From feature premieres to short film selections, AFF is offering a powerful, intimate window into the adoptee experience — from the inside out.

🎟️ Why This Matters
We are always on the lookout for platforms that elevate the adoptee voice. This festival creates space for the lived stories of adoptees—stories that too often go unheard or are filtered through others’ perspectives.

If you engage with youth navigating permanency, identity, loss, reunification or belonging (whether as a therapist, caregiver, educator, or peer), we believe this event is worth your time.

• Consider attending (either in person or virtually) your presence supports adoptee-filmmakers and the broader narrative of healing.
• Share this post with someone who might benefit: adoptive parents, foster parents, adoptees, counselors, social workers.

Let's honor the power of storytelling, connection, and truth. I hope to see many of you tuning in or sitting in the theatre. 🎥💬
