We need to spread the word about what speech pathology is and whom we support.
May is National Speech Language Hearing Month and May 18 is Speech Language Pathology Day. Today we honor the crucial work of SLPs and SLPAs across the globe. Our field is still unknown to many, which makes accessing crucial services even harder for patients, students, clients, and families. Feel free to share slides from this post to help us explain our scope to the public so that we can increase access and awareness about what we do, who we are, and whom we get the opportunity to help.
Go ahead and ask questions in the comments if you have any so that others who might also have questions can see the responses.
It is an honor to be an SLP and to run a program that employs other SLPs and SLPAs who share a mission and vision of expanding culturally and linguistically affirming speech and language services to our communities in LA, California, and the world at large. βοΈ
