For many years, I’ve noticed that whenever I leave home, everywhere I go, strangers frequently seek me out to discuss their innermost thoughts and concerns, confiding secrets and personal challenges that they had never discussed with anyone in their lives.
I noticed that those people who approached me seemed to consistently exit our conversations feeling relieved, visibly more confident, and h
appier. People who are ready to receive support always seem to find me.
These experiences inspired me to pursue a career as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Additionally, I am certified as a Family Services Counselor through my previous professional experiences as a case manager for the child welfare system in the state of Florida.
In my therapy practice, I utilize an eclectic approach, pulling methods from multiple therapy models to collaboratively co-create goals for your treatment experience. I have experience using approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy while maintaining a person-centered position. I have received additional training in Narrative Therapy approaches as well as the fundamentals of Imago Relationship Therapy. Together we will design an action plan that is custom-tailored to proactively address your specific goals and concerns. My clinical experiences as a therapist have brought me experience in working with children, individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. I've worked across a wide range of ages and genders, various stages of life, and a full spectrum of sexual orientations, and in the process, I have learned a lot about myself, too. Through my own journey into self-discovery, I learned that success in achieving goals that require discipline were not as unattainable as I had once believed. Personal obstacles I previously assumed would be an impossible, uphill challenge were not a matter of willpower after all - but a maturity issue.
Then, my question changed from, ”Can I do it?” to, “Do I have the maturity to choose to do it?”
Your trust is a privilege, and I am honored to support you through the process of achieving your personal goals. It takes courage to make a change, and I respect and commend your commitment to reaching your highest potential. There is hope for you yet.
I look forward to working with you.
