When we're all so busy taking care of our responsibilities, it's easy to forget to take care of ourselves.

But as the World Health Organization says, "Self-care empowers us to be active agents in our own healthcare, putting us at the very center." Caring for ourselves makes us better able to care for others, including our families and friends, and to reduce stress at work or school.

And although July 24 is just one day, self-care practices like deep breathing, walking outdoors, participating in a hobby, or simply taking a few moments for yourself are small improvements that you can make part of your life every day.

From all of us at the San Fernando Community Health Center, we encourage you to prioritize 𝒀𝑶𝑼𝑹 𝑺𝑬𝑳𝑭-𝑪𝑨𝑹𝑬.

𝗦𝗙𝗖𝗛𝗖’𝗦 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠 -- There are lots of obstacles to healthy eating. To overcome them, SFCHC is proud to offer FEAST (Food Education Access Support Together) health education classes.

The program was designed for adults with limited regular access to food or at greater risk for food-related illnesses. Participants learn about nutrition, and getting it on a budget, through recipes and cooking demonstrations. Perhaps most importantly, FEAST explores relationships with and beliefs about food and eating, while encouraging support and community with classmates. Getting healthy can be a deeply emotional journey. SFCHC offers the resources of FEAST to ensure that your journey is a success.

𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘—Construction continues on the SFCHC satellite clinic that’s part of the Corazon del Valle housing community. Scheduled to be finished next fall, the clinic will provide health services to Corazon del Valle residents and neighbors. Part of the Panorama City complex is reserved for people with disabilities, chronic diseases, and recent struggles with homelessness. SFCHC looks forward to helping ensure that these groups have safe, reliable access to healthcare.
