Carrie Janel is beginning a monthly virtual Ayurveda series as part of our S.T.R.E.T.CH. classes.

A message from Carrie:
While living with chronic illness for the last 19 years, and now through recovering post kidney transplant...I’ve become quite intimate with the importance of consistent, restful sleep for optimal health.

Poor sleep affects our digestion, which sets off a chain reaction in the other systems of our body. So what is the cause of poor sleep? As in everything with Ayurveda, the cause is unique to YOU, the individual.
Do you ever struggle with sleep?

In this Saturday’s Ayurveda discussion, we’ll begin with a brief introduction to Ayurveda (Yoga’s sister science, and another gift from India🙏🏽✨) and the three doshas. Then we’ll dive into how the doshas affect our quality of sleep. I’ll share my most effective nighttime routine and 5 favorite rituals to promote deep rest. We’ll also discuss why sleep is one of Ayurveda’s three pillars of health, and how our sleeping habits and patterns impact our overall health.
Saturday, June 26. 10a-11:30a via ZOOM

Our next S.T.R.E.T.C.H. event is coming up this Thursday!

As part of our Rest & Recovery offerings, this class is a little more active than a traditional restorative yoga class. In this slow moving 50-minute asana practice that stays low to the ground, we will focus on connecting with breath as we progress through gentle stretches, spinal movement and digestion enhancing postures. This class is meant to calm the body and stimulate your vagus nerve (the main component of your parasympathetic nervous system), while still keeping you moving.

Optional Props for a more supported and comforting class:
A small pillow (or yoga block)
A blanket

Join  on Thursday, 24th at 5pm (PDT) via zoom for a gentle and restful movement practice. Open to all levels and abilities! ✨

Our second S.T.R.E.T.C.H. Event on the calendar is an hour class on how use and embody Mindfulness in your daily living.

"To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders." ~Lao Tzu

From Andrea: “I'll be teaching how to still your mind, radically accept the moment you're in and fully engage in the present moment that is before you with out worrying thoughts or judgements. We will practice what it means to have non-judgmental awareness of what is and radical acceptance of self, others and circumstances. I will help you clear the mind and be fully present with the moment being more conscious and engaged. Mindfulness allows you to do one task at a time to completion with out feeling overwhelmed or distracted by other tasks.

I will also teach a progressive muscle relaxation exercise that connects mind, body and spirit to help you feel more grounded.

Please bring something to write on and with. I look forward to connecting with

All for love,
Andrea Forcina, MFT”

NEW MOON, WHO DIS’?? Register at the link in our bio and please check out page to support his work!

This is a monthly virtual group healing event facilitated by a licensed therapist, which aligns with the energy of the New Moon to intentionally create and activate our ideal futures. IMPORTANT: In these small group sessions, each participant will be invited to share their thoughts, emotions, and intentions, in order to review, release, and re-set, while the rest of us hold space and perhaps offer support or inspiration so that, collectively, we may find more ease in our bodies and minds. The intimacy and vulnerability that may emerge may feel uncomfortable for some, so you may choose to simply observe and listen, and that is perfectly okay. Please share as much or as little as feels comfortable for you. Our goal for these group healing events is to sow seeds of mindful and loving intentions, as well as:

* Helping and supporting others by sharing information and coping mechanisms
* Recognizing our shared experiences
* Identifying our patterns or possible misperceptions
* Learning ways to share our thoughts, feelings, and concerns
* Having corrective emotional experiences
* Inspiring hope
* Feeling a sense of belonging and having value
* Catharsis
* Creating a more ideal sense of self and future

Please bring:
-Pen/Pencil and paper

Some changes happening with All Kind that we are excited to share with you. We have been quietly hard at work re-visiting our intentions and how best to move forward with our mission as a cooperative. This is a pause while we continue to build our vision of transforming the wellness industry. We will share updates and potential offerings soon!
The post reads, “e are writing to share some exciting news about the next phase of All Kind Cooperative. We have been diligently re-visiting our intentions to shift the structure of All Kind to one that truly centers wellness professionals and providers. The heart of our mission has always been to create a communal, cooperative wellness space while supporting students and educators using fair and equitable practices. We have discovered that the most aligned, sustainable, and innovative way for us to accomplish this is to move away from creating weekly classes for students. As we take time in the coming weeks to prepare our re-launch and update our offerings, please know that our usual offerings of livestream classes and on-demand library will no longer be available.

We will transition to a new platform that supports excellent online wellness courses, a monthly calendar of livestream events, a curated library of on-demand video content, and a password protected community discussion and support forum. This new platform empowers our vision more effectively and will improve the user experience. We will post soon about interim offerings and any updates as soon as we can! Thank you for your support over this past year as we navigated this incredible undertaking as a cooperative.

We hope you will join us for All Kind 2.0.”

An update for our community:

Our Co-Founder Carrie Janell has been dealing with some health issues recently and in an effort to focus on her healing, will be taking a step back from teaching for the next two weeks.

Thursday’s Restorative Yoga will be subbed by .dance.doula and Sunday Ritual will be put on pause until Carrie can return.

In her own words, here is what Carrie has been experiencing:

“I was diagnosed with ADPKD (polycystic kidney disease) 19 years ago. It's a genetic disease that is slowly degenerative. Thankfully, I am one of the 10% of patients who is a spontaneous genetic mutation, and no one else in my family has it (it doesn't skip a generation, and each biological child we have has a 50% chance of inheritance. I was hospitalized last week due to a ruptured cyst and other complications related to my long term low kidney function. I was actually just placed on the transplant list, and am working hard to find a living donor match for a hopefully successful transplant within a year.”

If you feel called to offer support in any way, or if you know someone with any Kidney Disease who might be interested in a support group led by a wellness professional who knows first hand what it’s like, check out her personal page ❤️

Cooperatives work not to change human behavior, but to uplift and reveal it.

Assuming that humans are inherently driven to share and care for each other may seem radical to some, but the crew at All Kind have made that the foundation on which we build this community. Sharing knowledge, resources, and skills with each other each week has allowed us to get this far and it will be the reason we continue to find success.

It’s not always easy, but doing it TOGETHER means having support in a way that so many people do not when they try to do it alone. Our support for each other allows us to extend that same type of support to our students and community at large.
