Some shots from Bravery In a Time of Turmoil With Sarah Jakle at Rising Lotus Yoga.
Sarah spoke about how the amygdala, the brains alarm system, is wired to βkeep us safeβ but it gets tripped all the time for things that we donβt need saving from, hence our stress response is triggered all the time.
She showed us techniques to quickly hack back into presence, if we instantly ground we go from back brain function to front brain function.
-Put your feet on the ground and ask yourself questions about how it feels; Hot? Cold? Etc
-Hug yourself! Cross your arms on your chest and feel the contact. It instantly calms the brain.
Also we picked inner best friend and inner champion to talk to us when we need an inner congratulations or to have someone talk us into being brave to find that growth edge. This can be real people in our lives or people you admire.
Who would you pick as your inner best friend? The one who is always telling you are awesome.
