Charles Sidney Gilpin was a Black stage actor of the 1920s. In 1920, he was cast as the first Black actor to lead in a Broadway show: Eugene O'Neill's "The Emperor Jones." The same year, he became the first Black person to receive The Drama League's annual award. What a legend!

February 2, 1897 - Alfred Cralle patented the first ice cream scoop! At the end of the Civil War, Alfred was among many Black Americans who sought to patent their ideas. "The Pittsburg Press" claimed that with his invention, one could scoop "40 to 50 dishes of ice cream in a minute," while avoiding "the soiling of hands."

Eye am grateful for these gifts of self-love and self-awareness. Eye use them to expand my reality to fit the ever expanding version of self that is me in my Divinity. Eye am not perfect, nor do eye strive to be. Eye strive to simply live in a vessel that was created for me to heal and love.
