In conjunction with M3 Physical Therapy, the SPIP Lab was created to enhance Speed and Power for youth athletes, greater than 13 years of age. Our program focuses on specific soccer training exercises & activities that can be completed in 30-40 min prior to soccer training sessions (2-3 x week) as part of a pre-soccer training routine. The routine, over time (2-3 months) will result in stronger, f
aster, and more confident & healthier athletes that perform better on the field and avoid injuries. The SPIP Lab program was created by physical therapists (PT), Strengthen and Conditioning Trainers, and Soccer coaches to address a performance and injury prevention need in our youth soccer athletes. Research suggests that training and improving youth athlete's power and speed will result in improvement in performance on the field. Moreover, improvements in whole body strength and power, along with training on landing mechanics, cutting, and overall coordination will result in decrease in injuries on the field (1). The SPIP Lab is a grass root effort targeted at improving many facets of health for our young athletes health, including injury prevention, body composition and image, conditioning, and overall mental confidence. Our blend of medical personnel (PT), trainers, and coaches allows for the optimal blend of experts to formulates a comprehensive and effective soccer conditioning program.
