Today, on Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, we honor the strength, stories, and choices of women navigating life after mastectomy.

Breast reconstruction isn’t about vanity.. it’s about healing, identity, and reclaiming what cancer tried to take. Yet, many women are still unaware of their options, their insurance rights, and the emotional journey that follows.

At Oncology Aesthetics & Wellness, we stand with survivors and thrivers.. supporting every woman in feeling seen, informed, and empowered in her choices, whether she chooses reconstruction, prosthetics, or to embrace her natural form.

Under the Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA), most group health and insurance plans that cover mastectomies are required to cover breast reconstruction.. including procedures on the opposite breast for symmetry.

"I tried cold capping and it did not work.. having mom not look the same was very traumatic for my children"

Ashley’s journey is one of resilience, motherhood, and rediscovering confidence after her breast cancer diagnosis.

After 30+ rounds of treatment and cold capping that didn’t work, she came to Oncology Aesthetics & Wellness searching for more than a wig.. she was searching for herself again.

As a mother, navigating hair loss and treatment while caring for her family was never easy, but through compassion, expertise, and care, she found a look that felt familiar, empowering, and authentically her.

Confidence restored. Identity reclaimed.
