Winter is not a beginning. It is an integration.
In Western society, we are called to make goals, resolutions, and plans in the dead of winter — and if you’re feeling the pressure, you’re not alone.
Here are some of my takes on the Gregorian New Year:
❌ This is not the time to recreate yourself.
❌ This is not the time to force a new reality.
Although you can — because every day is an opportunity to live differently — we cannot demand huge shifts when the Earth itself becomes quiet in the Northern Hemisphere.
✅ Bears dwell in their caves.
✅ Foxes move into their dens.
✅ Eagles nest in the mountains.
Of course, we can still make moves.
But there is something profoundly beautiful about retreat — about nourishing oneself more deeply than at any other time of year.
Because let’s face it — this has been quite the year of the snake 🐍
A year of shedding identities.
Of moving from one expression to the next.
Of leaving jobs, partners, and situations we’ve outlived.
Or perhaps this is what we are being asked to face now.
Liminal spaces make us uncomfortable because we are in the unknown. Yet the more we allow ourselves to rest and integrate, the more clarity naturally arrives — without force.
So as people begin setting “goals” for the new year, I invite you to first celebrate what has unfolded in 2025.
Learn from your missteps. Listen to your body.
Allow yourself ease and grace during this season. ❄️
If you’re feeling curious about what 2026 holds, I’ve opened a small number of 2026 Year Ahead Readings.
➡️ Each session breaks down the energetic themes of your year month by month, offering grounded counsel to help you navigate with clarity and intention. {Link in bio}
I’ve already shared a few of these readings, and they have been deeply beautiful and insightful. Thank you to those who have trusted me! 🙏🏽
Sending you love on this New Moon ~ Solstice time.
