Seeing DEVO and B52s at the Hollywood Bowl was one of the most-fun concerts I’ve ever experienced and being there with great friends made it all the better. Having seen DEVO many times over the years, I’ve always hoped to see them at the Hollywood Bowl and am grateful for the upbeat musical experience (with DJ Cummerbund provided an uplifting start to the evening).

Thank you Mark Mothersbaugh and team DEVO for the backstage access at the Cosmic De-Evolution tour with the B-52s at the Shoreline Amphitheater. Both bands put on great live shows and took us through a musical journey through time.

The Cupertino house continues to come alive with new furniture,
a sunroom gym, and refreshed gardens (after some major pruning). Northern CA is sure lovely in the early fall with a variety of weather patterns and a full moon rising being a plus in addition to scenic local hiking.

Cardiff and I had the pleasure of meeting Jane Goodall in 2011 at a Best Friends Animal Society Strut Your Mutt event at Pan Pacific Park in Los Angeles. She and her canine companion were very gracious with their time with us and other event attendees. Her voice as an advocate for animal welfare will be missed but not forgotten.

Brief stop at Mammoth Lakes on the way back to LA. Having lived in LA for almost 20 years, I’ve never been to but I am glad to see some of the anytime-of-year sights within a few hours of home.

We fortunately had great late summertime weather for a detour to Lake Tahoe for some wake surfing training and time with my Biewer Terrier patient Willowbee. Considering I had not been to Lake Tahoe since 1993 for a wintertime skiing outing while in college, this was a welcome return. Thank you to our hosts and to Wake Almanor for the experience.

The Cupertino house is coming along well with efficient Elfa closet shelving systems, the gradual introduction of furniture, and a cleanup of the existing and introduction of new hearty outdoor plants. Spending time in the San Francisco Bay area is seeming appealing any time of year, but especially in late summer.

Thank you to our pal Fritz for the amazing box seats to see Cindy Lauper end her tour and film a documentary featuring musical guests Joni Mitchell, John Legend, SZA, and Cher. It was an amazing experience to see such a legend whose music I’ve enjoyed since the 80s accompanied by other esteemed musical influencers.
