Iyengar Yoga for Managing Diabetes

Diabetes Mellitus is one of the Top 10 deadliest health conditions globally. A leading risk factor for stroke, uncontrolled diabetes can also cause nerve and blood vessel damage resulting in impaired wound healing, kidney failure, blindness and amputation. In this workshop, we will look at the various types of diabetes and Rosana will share asana adaptations and principles to prevent onset, slow progression and navigate living with diabetes.

Rosana has been Practicing Iyengar Yoga since 1998. She integrates and adapts her yoga practice as required to manage a diagnosis (2014) of a progressive form of Type 1 diabetes, LADA (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of Adults). She is committed to sharing her lived experience with others who may benefit.

Managing Diabetes is open to all students.
