Time for a little meet the keeper moment:

Hi, I’m Heather! I run the Momma’s Space, Love and Emotions Spaces and series, and I also lead Totem’s only in-person offering for the women at Buncombe County Jail.

When I’m not holding Space's, I’m running my dessert business or spending time with my two beautiful children.

Some fun facts about me: I love writing poetry, I survived a decade battle with Cushing's syndrome, I am a sucker for a good horror/comedy and I pole dance for fun.

The heart of Totem is the people who show up with empathy, honesty, and a whole lot of heart. Here's a peek at our beloved Keepers, packaged with a few of their signature traits:

👩‍🍳 Heather G. – Motherhood, Love & Emotions Keeper
From baking cakes to holding space for grief, Heather's superpower is making people feel seen.
Fun fact: She’s a trained chef, founded a nonprofit, and runs a dessert company—because why stop at just one passion?

🎸 Vanessa R. – Self-Improvement Keeper
She’s part rockstar, part grounded guide. Vanessa’s been through it, grown through it, and now helps others do the same.
Fun fact: She’s in an amazing band called Sacred Skin and recently directed their newest music video—because she’s a total badass.

🏳️‍🌈 Gabe K. – LGBTQIA+ Keeper
Gabe leads our Keeper training program and shares his lived experience of coming out to help others feel seen and safe.
Fun fact: He DJs on the side and sings in an all-male choir—multitalented doesn’t even begin to cover it.

🌿 Hi! My name is Heather, and I run the Momma's Space, Jail Space, Love Series, Emotional Fluency Series, and monthly pop-up Spaces.

🐾 This month, we are discussing the pets we are grieving. The picture you see is of me with my childhood dogs, Fauna and Cruiser. Between my parents fighting and being bullied at school, they were my refuge.

🐕‍🦺 They were puppies when I was born, and to say I was gutted by each of their losses would be a huge understatement. Even writing this now brings a lump to my throat the size of the universe.

Grief isn't linear, and that’s exactly what this Space is about. Whether you lost a pet last week or last decade, this Space is for you. 🕊️

✨ We will mourn our pets, but more importantly, we will celebrate them and the paw prints they left on our hearts. ❤️🐾
