Some days, I still can't believe that we are living the days we hoped for.
The days we waited for.
The days we fought so, SO hard for.
How lucky we are and how grateful I am.

Forever the two strongest little werewolves 🥰❤️

It’s been almost a few years since Olive and Poppy’s FIP battle came to a close - and moments like the one you see down below, I find myself extra grateful and thankful that we made it.

Giving up was absolutely NEVER an option but times like this, moments like this - it was all worth it and it always will be worth it.

Every tear shed, every panic attack, every sleepless night and every unknown morning.

It’s the simple times, simple things, and simple moments I have not taken for granted and never will again.

Just a rainy day morning with Poppy sleeping close to me.

Life is good.

Poppy had her 8 week post-op recheck today!

Our surgeon said that everything feels and looks great. ❤️

She is able to come out of the crate and roam around more freely but we should still be mindful of any hard playing or jumping for the next 3-4 weeks as her knee continues to heal. There is a very slight limp (different limp than before she had surgery) and I am told it most likely just needs more time to strengthen/she could have a little bit of muscle wasting from being confined for a few months. It should build back up over time the more she uses it.

Another journey coming to a close. ❤️

Hi everyone! I apologize for the lack of updates - it’s been busy here and it’s been a while!

All is well. Poppy is still on crate rest and is coming up on almost 7 weeks post-surgery.

She had her first follow-up appointment 2 weeks after surgery and when the surgeon tried luxating the knee, all was well and it stayed in place as it should.

She has a second follow-up appointment at the very end of this month which will hopefully be her last! All fingers are crossed!

Thank you for continuing to think of my girls!

Guys, let me be clear because I have recieved numerous comments and PMs about this:

I am following all post-surgery instructions from Poppy’s board certified surgeon and his assistant.

You may not like the hard cone but it comes with the territory of this particular surgery - the area needs to breathe so it cannot be covered with a surgical suit and a soft cone is too flimsy/leaves more room for error and she is able to reach her stitches with it on.

She does not wear the cone while she eats. She is not free-fed and has supervised feedings. She is using the litter pan fine with it on.

I know what I’m doing, these little Werecats are my life and my care team knows what they are doing as well.

No need to worry. I do enough of it for all of us! 😉

Poppy is still doing well - she’s bright and alert and ate breakfast this morning for them!

I have an appointment with the surgeon in a few hours to go over discharge instructions and then she’ll get to come home. 😊

Baby Olive when I told her Pop Pop will be back soon!

Poppy did great during surgery! No surprises and the surgeon said it was basically what he expected so we made the right call.

She will be ready to come home tomorrow!

Thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers!
