Look Who’s Walking!
When Dahlia Saul arrived at Canyon Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Canoga Park, CA, walking wasn’t yet possible. After being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome—an autoimmune condition that affects the nerves—she was fully dependent on her care team for mobility. Even simple movements like sitting up or transferring required hands-on assistance.
But Ms. Saul never gave up. Over nearly three months, she demonstrated remarkable determination and spirit. With support from her dedicated therapy team and a positive attitude, she made steady, inspiring progress.
Today, she’s walking over 300 feet with handheld assistance, navigating stairs, and even strolling on grass. Throughout her journey, she encouraged fellow residents to keep going, always sharing her smile and reminding others:
“If I can do it, you can do it too.”
We’re proud of your strength, Ms. Saul. You’ve inspired us all!
