What makes me happier than spending time with other trans and non-binary people who are sharing their gifts with the world?

In december, I had the pleasure of meeting as she signed her books at North Fig Book Shop. It was one of the most neurodivergent friendly and coco conscious events I've been to IRL. As a neuroqueer & dynamically disabled self-employed perma-renter paying unethically high rent for aging, poorly-maintained housing, Mercury's gifts bring me more than joy...they contribute to my survival.

The only thing that makes me happier than spending time with trans folks thriving is being able to gift us constant reminders of how much I love us.

So I gave Mercury a signed copy of my poetry book Transcendence Affirmed: Poems and Affirmations In celebration of Trans Life in hopes that my book gives them a lil bit of what hers gives me :)

Nobody sees and loves and cares for trans people as well as trans people care for each other!

In honor of , Mercury is partnering with several other wonderful trans babes to raise 4 million dollars for life affirming trans health care with point of pride. Head over to her profile this weekend and share what you can.

This ain't no ad. Just me hyping up my people who are hyping up our people. Go show some love!

Oh! And is hanging out tonight with somatics and an open mic. Come join us :) you know where the linky is.

Thankful for for posting in a way that makes me want to archive again. And thank you to Past Me for archiving. I've been mostly off IG for the last 2 years. Haven't felt like archiving publicly, though it never stopped privately. Archiving (as time travel / spiritual practice) & Collaboration are two of my motivating words for 2024.

Image IDs + some thoughts :)

1. Photo of Zel wearing a T-shirt & sweatpants reading an old journal on a white sofa with pillows. Reading my past journals grounds me in spacetime in ways that are otherwise inaccessible to my neuroqurer bodymind.

2. Blue flyer w/ purple flowers for Electing to Breathe: super Tuesday escape. March 5th on zoom. 4:30-6:00p PT. Free for Black, brown &/or desabled QTs; sliding scale 11-44. Cause I felt like holding space on a day that means something entirely different to me than it does for people who still "believe" in this project.

3. Photo of a medium-large monsterra plant indoors next to a chair & a portable radiator. This baby has been bringing me pure joy as they grow for their own sake & in doing so validate me as a loving, giving & caring being.

4. Photo of zel looking up at an orange sign that says stay present for monthly meditation this Sat March 2 at 9am Pacific on zoom

5. Photo of Zel looking down at the camera wearing a red silicone n95 mask & sunglasses in front of a traffic light in los Angeles. Please keep masking loves. Thanks .nutrition for this mask rec.

6. Photo of zel's hand holding new book Bless The Blood. Blessed to have met them last night!

7. Same flyer for Electing to Breathe Super Tuesday Escape with text that says "it's primary/caucus season in the US project on turtle Island. This can stoke overwhelm! Let's come together to remember ourselves in a world that works hard to make us forget ourselves...and each other. Includes accessible movement & breathwork, reflection prompts & time to decompress together with music, card pulls and creative play."

8. photo of a fire stick succulent outdoors

9. Sepia toned photo of Zel wearing a grey v-neck teeshirt with flashes of light cause I cracked my screen 😫

Celebrate with me! I'm 2 years βœ‚οΈ (scissors emoji).

Gratitude to the billions of tiny actions by millions of people who continue to make autonomous, self-determined, embodied life possible for TGNC-I-2S people. May we remember those who work for us more than we do those who work against us with their actions & with their silence.

Gratitude to younger me for making today me possible, for giving me a 2nd bday to celebrate every year, for choosing life.

Gratitude to my beloved, to my friends, to my tgnc chosen family, and to my docs for being there for me in ways my given family ain't.

Dreaming of the day when visibility is safe.

may we embody freedom, may our bodies be sources of freedom πŸ‰ (water melon emoji). from here to fal e steen & all places behind and in between.

About

The ethos of Rest in Power Yoga and Reiki calls for the reclamation of yoga in the U.S. consciousness as a holistic, ancient tradition, first cultivated and nurtured in India, for the express purpose of spiritual liberation.

The name Rest in Power plays with the illusion of dualities, using the tools of physical, psychological, and emotional stillness to access and manifest the innate power (Shakti) within each of us.

The name also calls forth the ancestors of the marginalized, those who died without the privilege of living with consistent inner peace and/or extrinsic power. May our decolonization of yoga honor their power(s).

The yoga of Rest in Power touches that part of us that holds no fear, that sees with clarity, that knows itself – and knows that it knows, and that loves the divine in each of us without restriction.
