Chronic disease doesn’t start at diagnosis—it starts with what we see, learn, and experience every day.
Our latest findings highlight how students, parents, and school staff view nutrition and chronic disease in school settings. From awareness of diet-related health risks to the realities of school meals and the impact of home environments, three key themes emerged:

• Perceptions of chronic disease
• School-based nutrition
• External influences

While awareness is growing, gaps still exist between knowledge, access, and daily choices. Bridging that gap takes more than education—it takes collaboration between schools, families, and communities.

Swipe through to explore the key insights and what they mean for creating healthier futures.

Chronic disease doesn’t begin at diagnosis it starts much earlier, shaped by the environments we grow up in.
Through conversations with students, parents, and school staff, we listened to real experiences around food, health, and daily habits in school settings. What we heard is helping us build culturally relevant, community driven solutions that support healthier futures.
Because meaningful change starts with listening.

April is National Minority Health Month, a time to raise awareness about health disparities and advocate for equitable care for all communities.
Everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, education, and resources that support their well being. By acknowledging the gaps and actively working toward solutions, we can create healthier futures for generations to come.
Let’s continue to uplift, educate, and empower underserved communities. Change starts with awareness, but it grows through action.

Diabetes Alert Day is your reminder to check in with your health not later, but now 💙

Millions of people are living with diabetes or prediabetes and don’t even know it.

Over 38.4 million Americans have diabetes and about 1 in 5 don’t realize it.

Nearly 97.6 million adults have prediabetes, that’s more than 1 in 3 people.

Diabetes is more than just blood sugar
It can impact your heart, kidneys, nerves, and overall quality of life if left unmanaged.

The good news is that type 2 diabetes can often be prevented or delayed with simple lifestyle changes like moving your body, eating balanced meals, and staying consistent with your health checkups.

This is your sign to stop putting your health on the back burner.

Take the risk test.
Encourage someone you love to do the same
And start choosing your wellness daily
Your future self will thank you 💙

March is National Nutrition Month, a great reminder that small daily choices can have a big impact on our long-term health. Nutrition plays a key role in supporting energy levels, brain function, immune health, and overall well-being.
Here are a few simple tips to support healthier habits:
🥗 Build balanced meals – Aim to include a mix of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
💧 Stay hydrated – Drinking enough water throughout the day helps support digestion, energy, and focus.
🌈 Eat a variety of colors – Different colored fruits and vegetables provide different nutrients your body needs.
🧠 Fuel your brain – Foods rich in omega-3s, antioxidants, and fiber can support cognitive and metabolic health.
🍎 Plan ahead – Preparing meals or snacks in advance can help make nutritious choices easier during busy days.
This month, consider choosing one small nutrition goal to focus on—consistency over perfection makes a lasting difference.
