Dr. Komal Dhingsa has over a decade of experience in patient care. After working in “big box” medicine, she has seen firsthand the shortfalls of “band-aids” and “quick fix” treatments. Her dissatisfaction with the status quo of medicine and her strong desire to see her patients not only function better, but also live a life of optimal health, drove her to found Four Oaks Medicine.

Dr. Dhingsa received her Bachelor’s degree from UCLA in Physiological Sciences, followed by her Master’s in Applied Physiology at Finch University of Health Sciences in Chicago, Illinois. Her interest in how the human body functions continued as she obtained her medical degree from Chicago Medical School, post-graduate training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the UCLA/VA residency program, and Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and Cornell. In her pursuit of wellness for both herself and her patients, Dr. Dhingsa is currently completing a fellowship and board certification in Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine.

After the weekend we just had in LA...beach weather is coming 🏖 and the beaches will actually be open this year! What a difference a year makes 😅⁣

No need to panic! The gym is always my long game, as you all know, but I took help this year with non invasive, no downtime, safe and effective because... because well I deserve it! 🤔 What’s in it? Just messenger RNA (mRNA) and the lipid envelope. The lipid wrapping helps the mRNA get into the cell. The mRNA is a blueprint that gets the cell to make the spike protein found on the surface of the virus. 🤔 What if the 💉 gives me Covid? There is no live virus in the vaccine. Your body is making antibodies to the spike protein, so in the event the 🦠 shows up with its spike proteins your body will now recognize it as foreign and mount an immune response. ⁣
🤔 Will it change my genes forever? No, mRNA does not get into your DNA. Your DNA sits in a nucleus, like a VIP area, in your cell. The genetic code for the SARS Cov 2 virus is RNA and for humans is DNA - they do not speak the same nucleic acid language⁣
🤔 Does the vaccine cause female sterilization? No. Unfounded claim. No data of increased miscarriages in women who had antibodies to Covid (from infection) during or before pregnancy. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding talk to YOUR doctor treating YOU and make the decision together. ⁣

I was not emotionally or politically charged by my decision. While that can be hard to do, I chose to stick to the scientific facts available and not extrapolate too far out from that.
