Sitting in that doctor’s office, staring down the same doctor who had given me a long-winded tongue lashing just one month ago, I was feeling pretty good about myself right then as I really rubbed it in his smug face.

“And guess what? I didn’t start exercising more, or take those pills you wanted me to take, or do any of the other things you were pushing me to do.

All I did was a simple 30-second ritual every morning, right when I woke up - and my blood sugar levels are finally within a healthy range! And that’s AFTER having pancakes this morning - with whipped cream and maple syrup, no less!”

As I saw him splutter and go red in the face, I thought back to that moment one month ago, when that very same doctor had told me I needed to make drastic lifestyle changes if I wanted to make it to 60 years old.
