WE’RE SO EXCITED to bring you the very first Eagle Rock Repair Fair three weeks from today!

This is a great way to keep usable items from ending up in the landfill, so start thinking about what you might want to bring. Volunteers will be sharpening garden tools, repairing clothing/textiles, wooden furniture/household items jewelry and more.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: if you like to tinker or fix electronics, or other household items, have a skill like knife sharpening or any other useful talent you’d like to contribute, pls reach out through the QR code or message us here. Note that we are probably all set for sewing/textile repair, but if you have niche skill, reach out! This is all about neighbors helping neighbors.

Watch this space for updates, and we can’t wait to see you all! 🥰

Every year, dozens (if not HUNDREDS) of Eagle Rockers post on social media about baby birds, possums and other critters they’ve found. And every year, ALLLL the other Eagle Rockers chime in on those posts with supportive comments - some of them helpful, some funny, and some just plain ol’ cray-cray! 😆

This year, we thought it might be cool to have Office Vanessa Rodriguez and Cambria Wells from the center come and share their expertise. We’re willing to bet that you’ll learn something cool or new if you show up to this Zoom event on Thursday!

See you there.

Attention anyone with handy, crafty or techy skills: we are organizing our first repair café, brought to you by the ERNC Sustainability Committee!

The purpose of repair cafés is to keep clothing, small appliances, furniture or anything else that might be fixable out of the landfill and give it a new life. We need “fixers” who can sew, knit or crochet, glue, clamp or solder, sharpen, wrench or just generally tinker. The event is Sunday, May 3rd from 10a - 1p.

These are super fun community events! If you’re interested, please fill out the volunteer form (use the QR code or https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf6H0kSv72AM3c7mMPhoc3o36QI_sAnKz6KVDWwZbnuC839Lw/viewform?fbclid=PAdGRleAQkTdhleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAac0AgtUlEeqFikiS8mkaTodfuk0bWmmYUEOA0KdiSiiWaa2_c4ESn3e7vuvsA_aem_c7BUcKptjeEuAtT0YCWFcA) or email our Youth Director Tekle at tekle.skiles-januta@eaglerockcouncil.org with questions.

It may feel like summer, but it’s springtime and that means that we’re about to see the usual slew of posts with questions about baby wild animals. Brought to you by the ERNC Sustainability committee, here’s a short but useful webinar on what to do (or not to do) if you find an orphaned or injured bird, possum, or other wildlife. Our experts from the California Wildlife Center and LA Animal Control will give an overview and then take some questions.

Thursday March 19th at 6p, Zoom link in bio

Our next Sustainability Committee meeting is this coming Monday, March 16th at 7:30pm at ER City Hall, all are welcome!

And a special “Thank you” to the neighbors who showed up to get informed!

P.S.- NOW is the time to make sure that you’re still registered to vote for this race and others, and that your address is correct. Go to voterstatus.sos.ca.gov or use the link in our bio.
