Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council The ERNC is part of the Neighborhood Council system of the City of Los Angeles We also fund or partially fund community projects.

The Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council (ERNC) is an official city organization, staffed with volunteers and given a working budget of $37,000 per year. We consider issues relevant to our community and make recommendations to the City of Los Angeles, City Council and the Mayor. All meetings of the ERNC Board of Directors and its committees are open to the public. There is a public comment period on each agenda item, as well as for non-agenda items you may wish to speak about. These meetings are our chance to hear from you about the issues facing our community, and about things you want us to know. We want to hear from you, so please attend and participate.

This meeting will bring together firefighters, civic leaders, wildfire partners, and engaged residents for critical updates and forward-looking initiatives that will directly impact wildfire preparedness and recovery across Los Angeles County.

Highlights from the agenda include:

-A Fire Safe Council and NFPA Firewise USA® progress update, including how neighborhoods can achieve wildfire-ready status.
-A recovery update from Altadena and Pacific Palisades, including the remarkable student music resilience initiative in partnership with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.
-Introduction of new, free home hardening compliance software for smartphones and tablets.
-Details on March reimbursements being provided by MySafe:LA for 1/8-inch ember-resistant vent screens.
-A featured presentation on FireDome — an innovative wildfire protection system designed to create a real-time defensive barrier around structures.

What are you up to tonight? Our Sustainability committee meetings are one of the best entertainment values in town, unrivaled anytime, but especially so on a WEDNESDAY!

Tonight’s meeting will include planning for our “Every Day is Earth Day” event coming up later this spring, so feel free to come with ideas.

Our upcoming board meeting on Tuesday Feb 3rd (7p at ER City Hall) is packed with interesting items!

We’ll have a presentation by Best Friends about their animal rescue work and how to get services if you need them for your pets or strays, and one by the CA Earthquake Bolt & Brace Program about their subsidies.

Other agenda items include the results of the ER Plaza poll, a Renters’ Rights & Homeless Resource Fair, a Climate Action bill and more - swipe to see the whole agenda.

If you’re interested in helping direct the budget process that’s just beginning, this is a great place to start! Everyone has a voice, this will teach you how to make it heard as the Mayor and the City Council negotiate what the budget will be spent on.

This virtual interactive session will provide a detailed overview of the City's annual budget process cycle, highlight opportunities for Neighborhood Councils and community members to actively participate, and ensure your voices are heard throughout the annual budget cycle.

Additionally, you will be introduced the Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates and cover strategies for effective engagement during Budget Day in June. The goal of this session is to prepare you with the necessary tools to advocate for the essential City services and programs your neighborhood needs to thrive.

Come and check out our fun Sustainability committee tonight, all interested community members are welcome!

We’ll be talking about:

-plans for an upcoming repair café (got skills?)
-our new seed library
-a Spring seminar about injured/orphaned wildlife
-our street trees & how to keep them healthy & properly maintained

if you care about any of these, or any other sustainability issues you’d like to see the committee address, come down to ER City Hall tonight at 6:30!
