In this four week online series, we will explore the late-summer harvest season as it lives and moves in our soma, drawing from the poetry and wisdom of traditional Taoist medicine. The living earth element — the elemental correspondence of the late summer — represents our center. It is the axis around which our energy turns, and the digestive cauldron of transformation from which we receive nourishment and process the world.
The Earth element governs our capacity (or challenge) to metabolize and assimilate our experiences and the world around us to create internal stability, our boundaries, our reciprocity with the earth, our need to give and receive to actualize our potential, and the movement of centering for ease of mind and clarity of our thoughts + needs. We will play with these themes through gentle movement and breath practices.
This four week online series allows for a cumulative experience, and the opportunity to deepen your practice in a kind, caring group container. This class series is the final of five seasonal classes that began in late fall 2020. Tracking the seasonal turning within our bodies has offered grounded perspective as we've navigated the unfamiliar landscape around us this year. Newcomers are welcome; participation in earlier series is not required.
