After 6 years of Zoom screens, we finally got to be in the same room again. And honestly… it felt amazing 💙

Last Saturday, our HLAA LA community came together at the HEAR Center in Pasadena for our first in-person meeting since the pandemic. There were hugs, conversations that went longer than planned, coffee, donuts and that simple joy of just being together again.

We also had a great session with Matt from InnoCaption, who walked us through how call captioning works and what’s new. It was informative, practical, hands-on, and sparked a lot of great questions and conversations about how we stay connected in our everyday lives.

HLAA-LA Chapter is getting ready for the holidays! And we need your help!

Our chapter is looking for a…“Host for our Annual Holiday Party!” 🎅🏻🎄🎉🎊🎁🍽️

We’re excited to celebrate the holidays together—and we’re looking for a generous member to host our potluck party!

What hosting can look like:
A cozy home, free community room, church hall, or clubhouse
Space for conversation-friendly seating and a potluck table plus essentials. Ex. microwave, etc.
Number of attendees is flexible based on the location.
Our chosen date is Sunday, December, 14, 2025 in the afternoon.

We’ll support you with:
Chapter will supply a main dish or two (e.g., ham, turkey, catered)

Set-up and clean-up helpers

A potluck sign-up sheet so it’s easy and organized

Accessibility touches like name tags, good lighting, and our very own Looping System
