We are the founders, Hugo & Debra Saavedra, and we are chefs; not chemists. We have crafted our products for decades from only food-grade ingredients, and innovated from our food perspective. From our exceedingly high quality ingredients to our unusual processes, we envision, formulate, create, produce, and ship from our kitchen-factory here in Chatsworth, California. Our mission is simple: to uplift and delight, through the experience we create with our magical creations. And we have an amazing team who are as passionate about this as we are - lucky us! It all started many years ago when we were herb farmers, providing exotic herbs, edible flowers and micro greens, baby lettuces to many 5-star restaurants and chefs here in Los Angeles, as well as many Farmers Markets in Southern California. Hugo started experimenting with the herbs and flowers, and created a unique soap recipe that we thought was beautiful, so we decided to offer it at the Farmers Markets for fun. Well, the soaps sold out so fast, we knew we were really on to something, so we mad more! Pretty soon, we weren't farmers any more, but soap makers ;) We went on to create body scrubs and body creams, too, and we couldn't seem to make enough to keep up with the demand. Before long, we were in major retailers like Whole Foods Market. And along the way, we've gained quite a reputation in the natural industry as pioneers, innovating body care and taking it to a whole new level of "clean". It's been quite a journey! We both feel immensely blessed to get to do what we do. We love to bring joy, abundance and delight to people's lives. Our Story

Saavy Naturals was created by husband and wife team, Hugo & Debra Saavedra, who both share backgrounds in food cultivation and service. They have owned and operated restaurants, been personal chefs and designed and created menus for other restaurants. They also introduced and grew exotic edible flowers and baby greens which were mainstays at many 5-star restaurants in Southern California.

The Saavedra’s know food. Their name was on the menu of Spago, Patina, and The Water Grill, to name a few. After years of cooking and growing herbs and edible flowers, they started experimenting with them in new ways, creating luxurious soaps, body creams, and body scrubs. They decided to offer some of their new creations at a local farmer’s market, and the rest is history, as they say!

As great lovers of beauty, whether it’s nature, art, music, or an amazing meal, the Saavedra’s find inspiration in the lush bountiful wonders of the wold. Just as a great chef cooks not only for the sense of taste, but also for the eyes, the nose, for all of the senses, they create a feast for your senses with their food for your skin.
