1983 - 1990 Dr. Gording joined the practice of Alan Manedlberg, M.D., a corneal specialist. In addition to partic
ipating in the general care of patients, he assisted in pre and post-operative care of surgical patients and the management of pathology cases. Dr. Gording was also responsible for the prescribing of contact lens, including many challenging cases such as post keratoplasty, keratoconus, and other corneal dystrophies.
1990 - Present Dr. Gording established his practice in Westwood, and he continues to practice there today. He is a contact lens referral source for a wide range of eye doctors, including ophthalmolgists, oculoplastic surgeaons, retinal specialists, corneal specialists. He also gets referrals from internists and allergists.
1991 Dr. Gording developed a specialty in theatrical contact lenses. Over the past twenty years, he has become one of the largest providers of lenses to the film industry in the United States. He has designed and furnished contact lenses for numerous films, television series, music videos, and commercials. His credits include “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,”“ X Files,” “Interview with the Vampire,” “Lord of the Rings,” “Austin Powers 3,” “Vanilla Sky,” “Mission Impossible,” “House,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Vampire Diaries,” and “True Blood.” He even has appeared as a vampire on "Buffy" and "Angel." He has worked with many of today’s most notable personalities, such as Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Michael Jackson, Nicholas Cage, Charlize Theron, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mira Sorvino, Ashley Judd, Mike Myers, Danny Divito, Jackie Chan, James Franco, Robin Williams, Kate Blanchet, Drew Barrymore, and many others. Make up artists such as Michelle Burke, Todd Masters, Tony Gardner, and Rob Hall have repeatedly asked Dr. Gording to assist them in their projects. He was nominated for an Academy Award in the science and technical category.
