The future of medicine starts with bold ideas—and the students ready to bring them to life.

The FutureMedLA Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 FutureMedLA Scholarship, supporting medical students who are committed to improving healthcare access and advancing innovation across Los Angeles County.

We’re looking for the next generation of physician leaders—students who are developing creative solutions, applying technology in new ways, and championing health equity for communities that need it most.

If you are a medical student with strong ties to Los Angeles County and a passion for shaping the future of healthcare, we encourage you to apply.

Applicants may be working on ideas, research, or projects that:
• Improve access to care
• Use technology or new care models to enhance patient outcomes
• Advance health equity through policy, advocacy, or community engagement
• Reduce barriers to care for vulnerable populations

We’re still feeling the momentum from the 12th Annual Los Angeles Healthcare Awards.

Even with the rain, the event was completely sold out—and the energy in the room was undeniable. From the opening reception, featuring a live physician orchestra, to the remarkable stories shared on stage, the evening showcased the compassion, innovation, and leadership driving healthcare forward in Los Angeles.

We celebrated individuals and organizations making a real impact in our communities. We recognized the next generation of physicians through our scholarship program. And we witnessed truly special moments, including a powerful film debut from The Pitt and a heartfelt acceptance speech from our Healthcare Visionary of the Year, Cástulo de la Rocha.
