πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to our outstanding medical student! πŸŽ‰

We're thrilled to announce that Michelle Koh, BA, has won the Outstanding Trainee Poster award at the American Thyroid Association Conference!

Her poster, titled "Novel Approach for Study of Thyroid Carcinogenesis via BRAFV600E Transduction of Patient-Derived Normal Thyroid Organoids," highlights groundbreaking research in the field of thyroid cancer.

🦠 About the Research: BRAFV600E is the most predominant genetic mutation found in thyroid carcinomas. They developed a novel approach to model thyroid carcinogenesis in three-dimensional organoid culture systems, engineering patient-derived thyroid organoids to express BRAFV600E through lentiviral transfection.

Join us in celebrating this achievement and the future advancements it promises for thyroid cancer research! 🌟

🌟 Celebrating National Physician Assistant Week! 🌟

Meet Kelsie Shimizu, PA-C, one of our dedicated Physician Assistants who brings passion and empathy to her work every day. Inspired by her grandmother, a Hiroshima survivor who cared for patients after the bombing, Kelsie knew she wanted to make a difference in healthcare. πŸ’–

When COVID-19 disrupted her original elective rotation, Kelsie pivoted to ENT and discovered her true calling. Thanks to an incredible preceptor, she fell in love with the diversity and challenges of ENT. If not for her commitment to helping people, Kelsie might have pursued a career as a vet, working with animals at a zoo. 🐾

We are so proud to have Kelsie on our team, making a positive impact on our patients’ lives every day. Join us in celebrating her and all the amazing PAs during National Physician Assistant Week! πŸŽ‰
