Dr. Ally is a Mental Health/Relationship Expert, television personality, and founder of the DOUX Consulting Group. Dr. Ally holds a Ph.D.

She helps coaching clients reconnect with self in order to help them add richness to their lives by connecting with others. Helping clients, couples, and corporations authentically align with themselves and their brands by using a blend of neuroscience and creativity is her true passion. She thrives at the unique intersection between media and evidence-based interventions, based on years of experience in human behavior. in Clinical Health Psychology with a particular interest in branding, cultivating happiness, empathy, how perception transforms experience, and empowerment through creativity. Her research on minority women, cosmetic surgery, and the impact of media on body image has been presented at conferences around the world. Using this research, she directly impacts and improves the lives of others through workshops, radio, television articles, and hands-on coaching. She is a Lecturer at California State University Los Angeles, where she shapes the minds of students entering the mental health field. She also shares her expertise in appearances on shows including Love and Hip Hop, Family or Fiance, Access Live, and more. By using a balance of behavioral science and common sense humanity Dr. Ally transforms the minds of viewers and individual clients. In her eyes, mental health is much more than the therapist’s couch, it weaves itself throughout every moment of everyday life even the creative ones.

Before you start setting boundaries, you must understand what they are. Boundaries are about what you will or won’t accept and will or won’t do. They aren’t intended to control others. Whereas rules are set for other people to dictate the behaviors and actions they must engage in. They can come off as being controlling or authoritarian.

I got some disappointing news. Nothing major, just not what I wanted. So instead of being upset about things that aren’t for me I played back my week and reminded myself of the cute little moments that make life worth it.

Not everyone is meant to have a niche. Some of us are generalists, adventurers, polymaths. You know the old phrase “Jack of all trades master of none.“ Well, they love to forget the second half “often times better than a master of one.“ What specialists don’t realize about us multi-hyphenates is that we are made better by the diversification of our knowledge. The more we learn about quantum physics, the better our painting gets. The more we internalize about eastern traditions the more we understand about engineering. It is all connected and we are the conduit.

Today is my birthday and I sit in so much gratitude for every lesson and blessing this year. My friends have inspired me, thrived with me, and cried along side me. I thank you all. My family has celebrated with me, walked with me, and is the family I got at birth and chose whole heartedly. I love you My partner has been the rock beneath my feet, the punchline at the end of the joke, and my best friend. you are it! The most special commodity in the universe pure love. Thank you everyone for a fabulous 40th year. Here’s to 41!!!!

Feeling so blessed to have the incredible mother that I do. birthday always falls right around Mother’s Day, so we kicked things off with a birthday party, celebrated Mother’s Day the next day, and now we’re getting ready for her actual birthday on Wednesday. Happy Mother’s Day and happy birthday to the most boss babe mom you’ll ever meet!
