Have you made that birth plan yet, mama? 👀
If not, let me help you! Creating a birth plan doesn’t have to be overwhelming as long you remember these 4 points:
🤰🏽 Your birth plan is what YOU WANT to ensure that your birthing experience is one of confidence, comfort, and capacity. Think of the who, what, where, when, and why of your ideal labor and delivery experience.
🤰🏽 Include specific details about your needs and wants that will help your healthcare providers best cater to you — delayed cord clamping, skin to skin, baby-led breastfeeding, placenta encapsulation, no medical interventions unless medically necessary
🤰🏽 Communicate these desires to your healthcare providers immediately to ensure that they have the c capacity to meet these needs or if there is room for change/compromise.
🤰🏽 Reach out to your doula for assistance in creating your birth plan if you have questions and give them a copy to ensure they are up to date on how to best support you!
