If you or your partner have a sibling with autism, your baby may be eligible to receive expert developmental monitoring at no cost from leading clinicians and researchers. Families may receive written reports, personalized feedback, and support and resources, and you will be paid for your time.

The Next Gen Sibs Project is a multi-site research study exploring how autism traits run in families. We know that children with an autistic sibling have a higher likelihood of autism, and emerging research suggests this may also be true for children whose parent has an autistic sibling.

You may be eligible if:
• You have a baby (12 months or younger) or are currently expecting
• At least one of your baby's biological aunts or uncles is diagnosed with autism

Participation is available virtually or in-person through one of eight sites worldwide, including UCLA, Yale University, Emory University, Washington University in St. Louis, UC Davis, University of Miami, University of London–Birkbeck, and University of Alberta.

Learn more at nextgensibs.org or email nextgenerationsiblings@gmail.com to get started!

IDA proudly joins the movement celebrating Developmental Disability Awareness Month, affirming the message that inclusion, belonging, and access belong to everyone. We support families, providers, and our early intervention community in working together to ensure that infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities are seen, heard, and supported.

This month, we highlight disability rights leaders, such as Charlotte Woodward. Charlotte is a powerful advocate fighting for equitable healthcare for people with disabilities. As a member of the disability community, Charlotte works to pass legislation to end discrimination in healthcare and strengthen disability rights protections. Leaders like Charlotte inspire IDA to continue pushing for policies and practices that uphold dignity, equity, and access for the families we work with.

We also thank the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD), Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD), and National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) for leading this campaign.
