People often ask me what I do to avoid burnout as a therapist. There are several things, but one of the most important for me is walking. Walking resets me and restores my sense of balance. I often listen to podcasts when I walk, and lately I've been exploring the latest season of Anderson Cooper's All There Is. Anderson and his guests share their personal experiences with grief and loss, and I find the conversations moving, cathartic, and life-affirming.
